Negotiations

life is one big negotiation.  In order to get things done you negotiate,  your kids negotiate for later sleep time, toys, food.

In life you try and make prices better for your bills, for shopping, for insurance.

When did life become so conveluded.

Holidays

When did it become the Holidays or Seasons Greetings?  I grew up with Merry Christmas, Boun Natale, and Festival of Lights.  I hope that I am not the only one that is still teaching my kids to celebrate and rejoice to be Merry and Cheerful and spread the good word.

This country has become to P.C. And we  are at a point the fear of hurting someone's feeling or disagreeing with them is more important than being true to yourself.  Well I say be true to yourself and don't worry about being P. C. Celebrate your religion, your beliefs and be proud.

lifes lessons from home

How many of you got to college and you first load of laundry came out pink?
I was one of those raising my hand, lol....

One of life's greatest lessons are home lessons, those taught at home:

Cleaning house
Making bed
Cooking
Laundry
Balancing check book
Checking oil in car
Checking fuel in car
Putting fuel in car
Getting oil change
Grocery shopping, with list, not hungry
Finding good barber, if female stylist

You should of learned or done all these before moving out of your parents house.  If you didn't then you are in with the pink laundry group. The I blew a whole in my engine group, I burn my food group, I wrote a check and it bounced group, I got a read bad haircut group, I went to the store for one thing and bought 30 group and the my apt is a mess group.

Such simple things you barely even thought of as a kid or teenager could have really big impacts in your life later on.  Parents or siblings who have learned help your teenagers so they don't go through this.

Life's lessons

Kids,

Ok so I interview college students and I think to myself parents where have we gone wrong.  And it not the there's anything wrong Perse with this kid, great education, good resume, good school, but then I hit the personality.  Ok most of us graduated, and while at school worked our buts off and then still had to work some more just make end meet. So we were happy to get a job and a salary.  These kids, they think they graduate and they are owed something.  That they will just get a top of the line job and salary, and then look at you funny when you tell them it just is not so.

So parents please I beg you first teach your children humility.  But start them off doing chores at a young age, have them learn responsibility for not only themselves but for the things around them.  It is not enough to just work at home or watch the siblings, they need to have an outside job so they learn to work with others.  They need to learn to dress for work, behave at work and come to work on time.  Teenagers need to have at least one job or internship before they go to college, and once in college they need to expand on that.

I know as parents you want to give your child what you did not have, but this attitude is what is giving us this brand of self entitled youth growing up that thinks every thing will be given to them.  We need to teach our children to work hard for things and earn them.  If they constantly get things for doing nothing they will not know what it feels like to earn something or not have thing.  They will not cherish things when you do give them to them.  They will not treasure or take care of things.  Presents become objects that if they break are easily replaceable because mom and dad can just buy a new one.

Start now early give your children small jobs that they can do, have them earn things they want.  Save the big spending put money in college accounts or save it for retirement or a nice family trip.  You children will be better off for it.

Please, thank you, sorry, are things this youth is rarely seen using anymore.  Teach your boys to hold the doors open, common courtesies.  Have your children address there elders as Sir and Mam.  Those things go a long way.

Dress attire, is so important.  We don't wear flip flops and shorts to work.  There may be certain days where that's acceptable but pay attention to your surroundings and what everyone else is wearing.

If your teenagers get internships and jobs at an early age they will be better prepared for this and understand these concepts better.  It doesn't matter if you can afford to pay for there car or gas, let then earn it, buy it them self, let them have self worth a sense of self accomplishment by doing it the self.

Rock bottom

You know you hit rock bottom when your husband is calling your name asking you what you are doing as you are scavenging looking through dog poop for your wedding ring with a massive headache.  So to catch you up, I still have headache, weather caused my hands to swell so in the middle of night I took off my ring put it on bed stand. During the night I hit beds rand ring falls.  Morning comes I find one ring but wedding ring missing, I checked all carpet under bed under bed stand, bed sheets everywhere.  One assumption dog ate it.  So headache is raging I have to go to work.

I pick up husband from airport kids from school and go home.  I continue the search, I happen to notice dog has to poop, so I think to myself why not, I run after him and search through his poop and every other poop in yard, that's when my husband finds me, he's like what are you doing, you could of used gloves or napkins.  Yes I've hit rock bottom on this migraine.  So now freshly bathed and hands clean I still have a headache and have not found my ring.:(

Headache blues

It sucks to have a headache. Ever have one that last more than one day, well I'm on day three it is not fun.  To top it off a wasp decides to sting me on my neck.  Just one of those days.  My only highlight today was a call from my sons school.  To start off my younger son hates needles, it normally takes four to five nurses to give him a shot or take blood.  So back to the story, there is a flu clinic at school and they tried to give him a shot, if anyone has ever heard him scream or yell you know it will make your ears bleed.  So they have him cornered and no one will go near him, he tells them you better call my mommy because your not coming near me.  So I get the call, I then start to laugh because I can hear my son in the back ground and can imagine what is going on.  I then become mommy hero because I let them know he is allowed flu mist and does not require shot.  I can hear my son in the background saying I told you so, no shot for me. Lol what a crazy day, now to just get rid of head ache.

Storms again

June has been a month full of stormy weather.  Hope that this summer gets better weather. The stormy weather is matching my moods.  It sucks to have to go through another surgery. This mommy needs to be in tip top shape to take care of her very energetic boys.  VBS,summer Camp, soccer Camp and outings to the pool, they keep you very busy.

TMJ

Well life is full of constant struggles and issues.  It is always handing you something knew to deal with.  I was hurt in 1999 during a field exercise in the military and my jaw was injured.  I have had issues since. In 2007 I had orthoscopic surgery that supposedly healed it but apparently that did not work.  I always wear a splint to sleep and my jaw continues to pop.  I now require another surgery. It seems like it is always something new.

Thunder storms

Lately all we are seeing here is storms.  The boys try and sneak in every night once they see lightning and hear the thunder. It is sweet how they try and sneak in. They are still little enough to want to snuggle and cuddle.  I know I will miss these days soon enough.  It is hard to believe how fast they grow.

Summer reading and school programs

I really want my boys to be prepared so I am trying to determine the pros and cons and if sending the boys to the University of Alabama reading Program is the right thing to do this summer.  Do you spen $311 for each kid or let them enjoy being a kid and playing in the sun.  Are we pushing kids to hard? If I don't send him am I not doing enough?  So many questions to answer.  It is hard to be a good mom.

Crazy boys

So as I'm writing my other post my five year old decides it's a crazy morning, what is it with a males interest in body parts at a young age?  So dad sleeps shirtless, and both my boys seemed fascinated by his nipples and boobs this morning. LMAO. Too funny.  They said if you don't want us to look or touch put on a shirt, lol.  So my oldest pulls out my bra from hamper and try's to put it on my hubby.  Needless to say angry hubby, laughing boys.  What a morning.

The 5hifaa

Tests, Tests, and more Test. Just as I think I' m done with a test a new doctor sends me for another.  How many of you feel like you have gone through this phenomenal.  Now nine months into test and  multiple results I am back at it again.

So my Gastro doctor says I have a Gastroparesis after an stomach emptying test and Ct scan. A EGD was in conclusive and colonoscopy was inconclusive.  The biopsys came out negative, but my blood work that my Rheumetoid doctor did said I had antigens for Celiac.  So my GP says if my biopsy was negative I can't positively can't have Celiac.  I can't get Doctor to agree or give me a nutritionist to help me with a diet.

So Gastro puts me on Reglan which is supposed to help,  I start gluten free diet to see if it helps.  I feel better for four days, I end up in Er with allergic reaction.  Anaphylactic shock, still don't know to what.  Must stop eating food I ate that day and meds I took.  I know have to take 5 Hiaa.

I still have Gerd and horrible nausea, throat hurts, Stomach still hurts and my food is still not being digested right.  Never use the bathroom like a normal person.

if your going through a similar experience, I'd love to hear what your doing to get better.  Have a paralyzed tummy sucks.  If you are just experiencing this I hope this helps you some what.  I'll repost when I get back new test results.

The goodness of a shaved icy

The boys were so excited today because the saw the shaved icy shack was back.  There wonderful goodness treat that is so cold and yummy is back with the first day of spring upon us.  It was great that we had great weather so we could get them their rainbow goodness.  It's amazing to me how the simplicity of such a thing can bring such happiness to a child.  Well until the fall and cold weather we will be able to enjoy this simple but sweet treat.  So thankful for such a little pleasure.

welcome to my blog
